If you are a New Zealand writer ready to take your vocation to the next level then Clackers Clinic is your local typewriter repair service. We also supply typewriters and typewriter ribbons to writers of every kind. Our customers include journalists, novelists, columnists, short story writers diarists, poets, songwriters, and performance artists. We love to provide and service typewriters for active writers.
​Auckland Workshop & Nationwide Service
Our Auckland typewriter repair workshop is in Onehunga (near Royal Oak) and appointments can be made by calling 021 0852 7756.
If you are an Auckland based typer looking for a manual typewriter repair service then you can simply book an appointment to bring your typewriter into the workshop and we can take a look and give you an estimation of how long we think it will take to get your typewriter typing. Often we can do functional typewriter repairs in under an hour but sometimes we will recommend leaving your typewriter with us overnight so we can go through it with the various mechanical cleaning solutions we use. In some cases repairs can take a little longer, especially if the repair requires repeated testing of adjustments. We will communicate with you before ordering parts for your typewriter should they be needed and we will discuss with you the options available.
We currently accept shipping of typewriters from everywhere in New Zealand. If someone has a typewriter to repair they can ship it to us and we can ship it back (at owner's risk and expense). We can also ship typewriters to buyers, who have purchased a typewriter from us, across the country (at buyer's risk and expense)*.
